What are the entry requirements?
Entry requirements typically include Level 3 qualifications (A-Levels or equivalent) or relevant work experience in a sales or customer-facing role. Employers may also require GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above. Final entry requirements are determined by individual employers.
Will I earn a salary during the apprenticeship?
Yes! As an apprentice, you’ll be employed by a company and earn a salary throughout your training. Apprentices are entitled to at least the National Minimum Wage for apprentices, though many employers pay significantly more depending on age, location, and experience.
How much time will I spend in training vs. working?
You’ll spend at least 20% of your working hours in off-the-job training, which includes workshops, online learning, mentoring, and study time. The remaining 80% is spent applying your skills in the workplace, working as part of the sales team.
What career opportunities will I have after completion?
Graduates can progress to roles such as Senior Sales Executive, Account Manager, Business Development Manager, or Sales Team Leader. Many also pursue further qualifications like Level 5 or degree-level apprenticeships in Sales or Business Management.
Is there any cost to me as an apprentice?
No! The training costs are covered by your employer and government funding through the apprenticeship levy. You won’t pay any tuition fees, and you’ll earn while you learn.
Can I do this apprenticeship if I'm already working in sales?
Absolutely! Many apprentices are already employed in sales roles and use the apprenticeship to formalise their skills and gain a recognised qualification. Speak with your employer about taking on an apprenticeship to develop your career.
What support will I receive during the apprenticeship?
You’ll have regular support from a dedicated tutor or assessor, a workplace mentor, and access to online learning resources. You’ll also receive guidance throughout your End-Point Assessment to ensure you’re fully prepared.
What industries can I work in as a Sales Executive?
Sales executives are needed across virtually every sector including technology, finance, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, professional services, and more. The skills you gain are highly transferable across industries.
