Zenith are working with our client who are looking to recruit a time-served Electrical Biased Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of high‑volume manufacturing equipment. Working as part of a fast‑paced shift team, you will diagnose faults, carry out planned and reactive maintenance, and support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment uptime and production efficiency.
- Perform electrical maintenance on automated production machinery, robotics, conveyors, and high‑speed manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults, including PLC‑related issues, sensors, drives, motors, and control panels.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns, ensuring safe and effective resolution to restore production.
- Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat failures.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with production teams to optimise machine performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure all work complies with electrical safety standards, site procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation.
- Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and Lean.
- Work effectively within a multi‑skilled engineering team across shifts.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, production staff, and engineering colleagues regarding equipment status and maintenance priorities.
- Support training and knowledge‑sharing across the team.
Skills & Experience Required
- Time‑served Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, City & Guilds).
- Strong experience in electrical maintenance within a high‑volume or automated manufacturing environment.
- Competence in fault‑finding on PLC‑controlled systems (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.).
- Solid understanding of electrical schematics, control circuits, and industrial automation.
- Experience with AC/DC drives, sensors, motors, and safety circuits.
