Key learning areas
Apprentices will develop practical skills across warehouse operations and inventory control, materials handling and equipment operation, and warehouse management systems and technology. The curriculum emphasises safe and efficient movement of goods, accurate stock control, and adherence to warehouse processes and standards. Apprentices will also build confidence in using digital systems and technology to improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall warehouse performance.
Warehouse Operations & Inventory Control
Learn goods receiving procedures, stock location systems, picking methods, packing standards, dispatch processes, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Materials Handling & Equipment Operation
Develop skills to safely operate equipment (pallet trucks, forklifts with training), manual handling techniques, load securing, and efficient movement of goods..
Warehouse Management Systems & Technology
Learn to use WMS software, barcode scanners, inventory tracking systems, and digital tools that optimise warehouse operations and accuracy.
Assessment
End-point assessment including practical observation of warehouse tasks, professional discussion, and demonstration of operational competencies and health and safety knowledge.
